La sensibilità morale nel costruttivismo kantiano

Abstract

La seguente tesi ha come oggetto di studio la sensibilità morale nel costruttivismo kantiano. Con “sensibilità morale” si indica generalmente quella parte della teoria etica che si occupa di vedere come gli agenti morali rispondono sia ai comandi della ragione che alle situazioni morali particolari in cui si trovano ad agire e di cui devono riuscire a cogliere gli elementi salienti. Dunque, trattare questo tema significa studiare in che modo gli agenti sono sensibili alle richieste morali. Lo scopo della tesi è mostrare come un’adeguata considerazione della sensibilità morale sia fondamentale per completare il resoconto costruttivista, infatti, essa mostra che la giustificazione dell’autorità della ragione non solo è coerente, ma è anche efficace per il tipo specifico di soggetti che siamo noi esseri umani, finiti e riflessivi. Sosterrò che la versione di costruttivismo kantiano che più di tutte ha riconosciuto l’importanza della sensibilità morale è quella che è stata elaborata da Carla Bagnoli. Questa autrice, tenendo in considerazione gli insegnamenti della filosofia di Iris Murdoch, porta due contributi importanti al costruttivismo kantiano che lo rendono più vicino alla concretezza dell’esperienza morale ordinaria: per un verso, mostrando la centralità della sensibilità morale riesce a superare il problema del costruttivismo di limitarsi a una giustificazione in astratto, per l’altro riesce a dare un resoconto più completo e più complesso dell’agente e della sua esperienza morale.

The following thesis has as its object of study the moral sensibility in Kantian constructivism. "Moral sensibiliity" generally indicates that part of ethical theory that examines how moral agents respond both to the commands of reason and to the particular moral situations in which they find themselves acting and whose salient elements they must be able to grasp. Therefore, examining this issue means studying how agents are sensitive to moral demands. The purpose of this thesis is to show how an adequate consideration of moral sensibility is fundamental to complete the constructivist account, in fact, it shows that the justification of the authority of reason is not only coherent, but it is also effective for the specific type of subjects that we are, finite and reflective. I will argue that the version of kantian constructivism that most of all recognized the importance of moral sensibility is the one developed by Carla Bagnoli. She, taking into consideration the philosophy of Iris Murdoch, brings two important contributions to kantian constructivism that make it closer to the concreteness of ordinary moral experience: on the one hand, by showing the centrality of moral sensibility, she manages to overcome the problem of constructivism to limit itself to an abstract justification, for the other hand, it succeeds in giving a more complete and more complex account of the agent and his moral experience.
