| it_IT |
dc.description.abstract | The aim of the thesis is to test the performance of a neural network in the archaeological field: Computer Science, whith all its tools, is able to support and facilitate the work of the humanist innovating the methodology of research, increasing the storage capacity of data and facilitating the retrieval of information. The purpose of the paper is therefore addressed to the automatic recognition of ceramic finds taking into consideration as distinctive parameter, exclusively, the decorative type: the ceramic classes are divided into "sgraffito ware" and " glazed pottery". The artificial neural network , applied in order to automatically classify findings, is a form of A. I borrowed from biology and its main ability is machine learning. Indispensable, for the success of the experiment, are the images of the archaeological material of wich 80% corresponds to the training set, or the set of data used to train the system, while the remaining 20% constitutes the test set, on wich the level of reliability of machine learning is avaluated. In the thesis the estimated level of reliability is of 84,3%. | en_UK |
