Fundamentals of Care: focus sulla percezione degli aspetti psicosociali nel contesto della Laurea Triennale in Infermieristica

Abstract

INTRODUZIONE: Le Fundamentals of Care sono definite in letteratura come elementi essenziali, appunto fondamentali, delle cure infermieristiche, richieste da ogni tipologia di paziente, a prescindere dalle condizioni sia cliniche che ambientali in cui viene prestata assistenza. Queste non riguardano solamente azioni o pratiche infermieristiche, bensì comprendono tutta una serie di fattori fisici, psicosociali e relazionali. METODO: Per il mio progetto di ricerca di Tesi di Laurea Magistrale ho deciso di adottare la metodologia qualitativa in quanto indagherò le esperienze di apprendimento degli studenti del Corso di Laurea in Infermieristica durante il loro percorso formativo sulle Fundamentals of Care, ponendo l'accento in particolar modo alle componenti psicosociali attraverso dei Focus Group. In totale hanno partecipato al progetto 20 studenti suddivisi in 4 gruppi. RISULTATI:E' necessario evidenziare come il framework delle Fundamentals of Care non sia stato ancora sufficientemente esposto ed affrontato all’ interno delle realtà didattiche indagate. Occorre rivedere in parte l’insegnamento in merito agli aspetti psicosociali nel contesto delle Fundamentals of Care, perchè gli studenti partecipanti ai focus group hanno confermato una delle più grandi problematiche che caratterizzano il percorso di studi: l’enorme divario che si viene a creare tra la formazione e l' esperienza di tirocinio.Nonostante ciò la maggioranza degli studenti ha interiorizzato l’importanza degli aspetti psicosociali all' interno dell’assistenza infermieristica. CONCLUSIONI: Gli aspetti psicosociali nell’ambito del modello concettuale delle Fundamentals of Care, vengono percepiti dagli studenti come una pratica infermieristica di primo livello. Purtroppo però gli studenti non apprezzano in toto gli strumenti didattici utilizzati. PAROLE CHIAVE: Fundamentals of Care, aspetti psicosociali, studenti, focus group, infermieristica.

INTRODUCTION: The Fundamentals of Care are defined in the literature as essential, precisely fundamental, elements of the nursing care required by each type of patient, regardless of the clinical and environmental conditions in which assistance is provided. These not only concern nursing actions or practices, but also include a whole series of physical, psychosocial and relational factors. METHOD: For my MSc Thesis research project I decided to adopt the qualitative methodology as I will investigate the learning experiences of the students of the Degree Course in Nursing during their training course on Fundamentals of Care, placing the emphasis on especially to the psychosocial components through Focus Groups. In total 20 students participated in the project divided into 4 groups. RESULTS: It is necessary to highlight how the Fundamentals of Care framework has not yet been sufficiently exposed and addressed within the educational realities investigated. Part of the teaching on psychosocial aspects in the context of the Fundamentals of Care must be reviewed, because the students participating in the focus groups have confirmed one of the biggest problems that characterize the course of study: the huge gap that is created between training and internship experience. Despite this, the majority of students have internalized the importance of psychosocial aspects within nursing care. CONCLUSIONS: The psychosocial aspects within the conceptual model of the Fundamentals of Care are perceived by students as a first level nursing practice. Unfortunately, however, students do not fully appreciate the teaching tools used. KEYWORDS: Fundamentals of Care, psychosocial aspects, students, focus groups, nursing.
