| it_IT |
| dc.description.abstract | Achilles tendon rupture is a significant injury for soccer players, as it can compromise the recovery of the physical capacities and performance required to return to their previous level. This thesis examines the pathway from rehabilitation to return to sport performance, with particular emphasis on the reconditioning phase.
Based on an analysis of the available scientific evidence, the study examines the main aspects of recovery, including strength, neuromuscular control, tendon stiffness, plyometric ability, and aerobic and anaerobic conditioning. It also explores load progression, the gradual reintroduction of soccer-specific movement demands and technical skills, and the functional and performance-related criteria used to assess an athlete’s readiness to return to play. Particular attention is given to the distinction between returning to sport and fully recovering performance.
Drawing on the evidence reviewed and the specific demands of soccer, the thesis proposes a seven-phase reconditioning progression, from initial recovery to return to performance. The proposed framework emphasizes progressive loading, individualization, and the increasing specificity of training exercises, with the aim of supporting a safe return to sporting activity and the recovery of the capacities required to meet the demands of training and competition. | en_UK |
