La figura dello spedizioniere nelle crisi geopolitiche: le rotte mediorientali

Abstract

Il seguente elaborato nasce dall’analisi delle problematiche geopolitiche che si stanno verificando attualmente in un territorio problematico come quello mediorientale cercando di capire come questi eventi abbiano impattato il mondo degli spedizionieri. La tesi si apre analizzando prima di tutto la figura dello spedizioniere cercando di inquadrarlo e spiegando il suo operata e il valore aggiunto che apporta nel mondo dell’economia marittima. Viene anche approfondita l’evoluzione della figura dello spedizioniere, la quale ricopre un ruolo fondamentale. Nel secondo capitolo il focus di questo si sposta sulla geopolitica e le conseguenze economiche che scaturiscano dalla chiusura dei chokepoints marittimi alla vera e propria escalation bellica. Per renderlo possibile, lo studio si sofferma sia sull’importanza geografica delle rotte prese in esame sia sull’analisi dei dati economici pre-guerra. All’interno del terzo capitolo della tesi si uniscono questi due macro-argomenti trovando i punti di contatto e influenze dirette sull’economia marittima ma nello specifico dei freight forwarders. Il tutto è stato possibile analizzando una moltitudine di fonte estremamente eterogenee dai rapporti e le pubblicazioni di Fedespedi agli articoli scientifici ricercati principalmente sui portali Google Scholar e Scopus. Inoltre, sono stati analizzati diversi report economici che hanno permesso un’interpretazione precisa dei dati analizzati. La tesi si conclude con un caso studio aziendale riguardante Kuehne+Nagel, allo scopo di ottenere un riscontro concreto di quanto analizzato e descritto nei primi capitoli teorici.

This paper stems from an analysis of the geopolitical issues currently unfolding in a troubled region such as the Middle East, seeking to understand how these developments have impacted the world of freight forwarders. The thesis begins by analyzing the role of the freight forwarder, seeking to define it and explain its operations and the added value it brings to the maritime economy. It also explores in depth the evolution of the freight forwarder, a figure who plays a fundamental role. In the second chapter, the focus shifts to geopolitics and the economic consequences ranging from the closure of maritime chokepoints to full-scale military escalation. To this end, the study examines both the geographical importance of the routes under consideration and pre-war economic data. The third chapter of this thesis brings these two broad topics together, identifying their points of intersection and direct influences on the maritime economy specifically as they relate to freight forwarders. This was made possible by analyzing a wide variety of sources, ranging from Fedespedi reports and publications to academic articles found primarily on Google Scholar and Scopus. In addition, various economic reports were analyzed, enabling a precise interpretation of the data. The thesis concludes with a corporate case study on Kuehne+Nagel, with the aim of providing concrete evidence of the analysis and descriptions presented in the initial theoretical chapters.
