Tradurre il testo medico-scientifico: proposta di traduzione dell’articolo «Carences et excès en micronutriments» e commento traduttologico

Abstract

La presente tesi si pone l’obiettivo di realizzare la traduzione di un articolo medico-scientifico dal francese all'italiano e di analizzarne il processo traduttivo, illustrando quali strategie e tecniche sono state impiegate per risolvere le criticità emerse. Il testo di partenza consiste in un articolo scientifico intitolato «Carences et excès en micronutriments», Carenze ed eccessi di micrnutrienti, tratto dalla rivista «Nutrition clinique et métabolisme» (volume 37, numero 3, settembre 2023, pagine 130-148). L’articolo stato redatto da tre ricercatori, David Metsu, Sylvie Caspar-Bauguil e Anne Galinier con il fine di fornire un aggiornamento delle conoscenze sugli effetti di carenze ed eccessi di micronutrienti sull’organismo. La presente tesi si articola in due sezioni principali: la traduzione del testo di partenza e il commento traduttologico, dedicato alla presentazione del testo medico e delle sue caratteristiche, con particolare attenzione alla terminologia specialistica, nonché all’analisi critica della traduzione realizzata, nella quale, attraverso il supporto di riferimenti teorici, sono stati esaminati gli aspetti più rilevanti del processo traduttivo, le difficoltà riscontrate e le soluzioni adottate per superare tali criticità.

The aim of this thesis is to translate a medical-scientific article from French into Italian and to analyse the translation process, illustrating the strategies and techniques employed to resolve the challenges encountered. The source text consists of a scientific article entitled ‘Carences et excès en micronutriments’, Micronutrient deficiencies and overdoses, from the journal ‘Nutrition clinique et métabolisme’ (volume 37, issue 3, September 2023, pages 130–148). The article was written by three researchers: David Metsu, Sylvie Caspar-Bauguil and Anne Galinier, with the aim of providing an update on the effects of micronutrient deficiencies and overdoses on the body. This thesis is divided into two main sections: the translation of the source text and the translation commentary, dedicated to the presentation of the medical text and its characteristics, with particular attention to specialist terminology, as well as a critical analysis of the translation produced, in which, with the support of theoretical references, the most relevant aspects of the translation process, the difficulties encountered and the solutions adopted to overcome these challenges have been examined.
