Ruolo e contributo del Servizio Sociale nelle strutture di recupero per adolescenti Analisi di un caso

Abstract

The Social Worker plays a very important role in the residential recovery facilities for adolescents, as they are familiar with the available resources in the local area and with the needs of the beneficiaries, spending a lot of time with them, fragile and vulnerable people, but also resilient in taking new paths toward change and an improved quality of life. This paper aims to analyze the value and contribution of Social Work in this field. The considerations are supported by the study of a hypothetical case and by interviews conducted with three Social Workers working in residential communities for adolescents. The aim is to highlight the Social Worker’s functions of mediation, coordination, and leadership referring to the network and its stakeholders, who will be part of the support process for the adolescent, as well as the supportive role in accompanying the individual along a path of transformation.

L'Assistente Sociale svolge un ruolo fondamentale all'interno delle strutture di recupero per adolescenti, poiché conosce le risorse disponibili sul territorio e i bisogni dei beneficiari trascorrendo molto tempo con loro, persone fragili e vulnerabili, ma anche resilienti nel percorrere nuove strade verso cambiamento e miglioramento di vita. L'elaborato si propone di analizzare il valore e il contributo del Servizio Sociale in tale ambito. Le riflessioni sono supportate dallo studio di un caso ipotetico e dalla somministrazione di interviste a tre Assistenti Sociali che operano in comunità per adolescenti. L'obiettivo è evidenziare le funzioni di mediazione, coordinamento e regia dell'Assistente Sociale per quanto concerne la rete e i suoi attori, che faranno parte del processo d'aiuto per l'adolescente, e la sua funzione di sostegno che accompagnerà la persona in un percorso di trasformazione.
