Metacognizione delle proprie funzioni esecutive in soggetti della scuola secondaria di secondo grado e giovani adulti.

Abstract

La tesi mira a svolgere una ricerca sistematica nell’ambito scientifico sul tema dell’autovalutazione delle proprie funzioni esecutive in adolescenti e giovani adulti. Il fine è quello di analizzare la presenza di materiali scientifici sul tema citato precedentemente e in seguito esporre tutti materiali trovati nella seguente tesi. Nei prime due capitoli si sono delineati il quadro storico e il quadro teorico delle funzioni esecutive e della metacognizione, ripercorrendo la nascita e lo sviluppo dei due costrutti sopra citati, per poi successivamente visionare i vari modelli di riferimento di entrambi i concetti. Nel terzo capitolo sono esposte le traiettorie di sviluppo dei disturbi di apprendimento, delle funzioni esecutive e della metacognizione nell’età target dall’adolescenza alla prima età adulta. Il cuore della tesi è il quarto capitolo. In esso è descritta la ricerca sistematica svolta attraverso le stringhe di ricerca, inserite successivamente nei tre database scientifici: PubMed, MedLine e Scopus. In questi ultimi si è applicato, per affinare la ricerca, il filtro “ultimi 10 anni” per ottenere i dati più recenti possibili. La seguente ricerca ha messo in evidenza una significativa scarsità di evidenze empiriche sull’argomento di ricerca preso in esame. Nonostante l’ampia letteratura esistente sulle funzioni esecutive e sulla metacognizione, risulta ancora scarsamente indagato l’ambito scientifico dell’autovalutazione delle proprie funzioni esecutive in adolescenti e giovani adulti. In conclusione, la ricerca sistematica ha fatto emergere l’esistenza di una lacuna nella letteratura scientifica, rendendo il seguente studio un contributo necessario per esplorare un ambito d’indagine non ancora sufficientemente trattato.

This dissertation aims to conduct systematic scientific research on the topic of self-assessment of executive functions in adolescents and young adults. The goal is to analyze the existing scientific materials on the aforementioned topic and then present all the materials found in the following dissertation. The first two chapters outline the historical and theoretical framework of executive functions and metacognition, retracing the origins and development of the two aforementioned constructs, and then examining the various reference models for both concepts. The third chapter outlines the developmental trajectories of learning disabilities, executive functions, and metacognition in the target age range from adolescence to early adulthood. The heart of the dissertation is the fourth chapter. It describes the systematic search conducted using search strings, subsequently entered into three scientific databases: PubMed, MedLine, and Scopus. In the latter, the "last 10 years" filter was used to refine the search to obtain the most recent data possible. The following research has highlighted a significant paucity of empirical evidence on the research topic under consideration. Despite the extensive existing literature on executive functions and metacognition, the scientific area of ​​self-assessment of executive functions in adolescents and young adults remains poorly explored. In conclusion, the systematic search has highlighted a gap in the scientific literature, making the following study a necessary contribution to exploring an area of ​​inquiry that has not yet been sufficiently explored.
