Musica e letteratura italiana nel Novecento. Percorsi di memoria della Shoah nella cultura italiana.

Abstract

La tesi affronta il complesso rapporto tra musica e letteratura italiana nel Novecento, con particolare attenzione al periodo della Shoah. Partendo dall'analisi di come la musica si è fatta sentire nelle opere degli autori di fine Ottocento e di inizio XX secolo, si è analizzato il suo ruolo nel tragico evento che ha profondamente segnato la storia italiana del Novecento. Inoltre, si è riflettuto su come le guerre mondiali hanno ridefinito i linguaggi sia della letteratura sia della musica, ponendo interrogativi sulla loro posizione e responsabilità etica e civile nella società italiana.

The thesis addresses the complex relationship between music and Italian literature in the twentieth century, with particular attention to the period of the Shoah. Starting from an analysis of how music was heard in the works of authors of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, its role in the tragic event that profoundly marked Italian history in the twentieth century was analysed. Furthermore, consideration was given to how the world wars redefined the languages of both literature and music, raising questions about their position and ethical and civil responsibility in Italian society.
