IL CIBO: STRUMENTO NARRATIVO E EDUCATIVO NELLE OPERE DI ROALD DAHL

Abstract

La tesi analizza il ruolo del cibo come strumento narrativo ed educativo nelle opere di Roald Dahl, autore di rilievo nella letteratura per l'infanzia. Il cibo, elemento ricorrente nelle sue storie, diventa un mezzo per esprimere valori morali e per fornire un'occasione di crescita ai bambini. Attraverso l'analisi di alcuni suoi libri, tra i quali "La fabbrica di cioccolato", "Matilda" e "Il GGG", si vuole evidenziare come il cibo riveli i tratti di personalità dei personaggi, sia un mezzo per esercitare potere e favorisca trasformazioni fisiche e interiori. L'autore vuole trasmettere la necessità di un equilibrio nella vita e nell'educazione, fornendo come esempio l'equilibrio nell'alimentazione. Dahl ritiene che non solo il corpo debba essere nutrito, ma anche la mente attraverso la lettura, la stimolazione dell'immaginazione e l'uso fantasia.

The thesis analyzes the role of food as a narrative and educational tool in the works of Roald Dahl, a prominent author in children's literature. Food, a recurring element in his stories, becomes a means of expressing moral values and providing an opportunity for children to grow. Through the analysis of some of his books, including "The Chocolate Factory", "Matilda" and "The BFG", the thesis wants to highlight how food reveals the personality traits of the characters, how it is a means of exercising power and how it is promotes physical and internal transformations. The author wants to convey the need for balance in life and education, providing balance in nutrition as an example. Dahl believes that not only the body should be nourished, but also the mind through reading, stimulating the imagination and using fantasy.
