L’economia argentina: sviluppo e crisi.

Abstract

Lo scopo principale di questo articolo è quello di evidenziare le ragioni alla base delle numerose crisi economiche dell'Argentina, evidenziando come si siano risolte importanti questioni strutturali nel Paese, che molti economisti ritenevano avesse un potenziale di crescita simile a quello di Canada e Stati Uniti. Per illustrare come questi problemi siano diventati strutturali nel corso dei decenni e collegarli al contesto economico storico del Paese, l'articolo è suddiviso in tre capitoli: un primo capitolo introduce le principali caratteristiche dell'Argentina e la situazione socioeconomica del Paese prima della Seconda Guerra Mondiale; il secondo capitolo descrive l'andamento dei principali indicatori economici del Paese e le politiche economiche adottate dai governi e i loro principali effetti, in particolare come il governo di Perón e le sue politiche abbiano avuto così tanta rilevanza nel Paese e come questa ideologia si sia radicata nei cittadini; un terzo capitolo affronta la situazione attuale e l'evoluzione dell'economia dagli anni 2000.

The main purpose of this paper is to point out the reasons behind the several economic crises of Argentina, to light how key structural issues had settle in the country, which many economists believed had the growth potential similar to Canada and the United States. In order to illustrate how these problems have become structural over the decades and to link them with the country's historical economic background, the paper is divided into three chapters: a first chapter to introduce the main characteristics of Argentina and the social economic situation of the country before the Second World War, the second chapter describes the trend of key economic indicators of the country and the economic policies that were taken by governments and their main effects, in particular how the Perón’s government and its policies have had so much relevance in the country and how this ideology got rooted in the citizens, a third chapter to cover the current situation and how the economy has evolved since the 2000s.
