Abstract

L’iconografia del dipinto è tutt’oggi al centro di un vivace dibattito storiografico. Questa tesi si propone di ricostruire il percorso critico e interpretativo che ha condotto all’attuale comprensione iconografica del dipinto Amor Sacro e Amor Profano, soffermandosi sulle tappe fondamentali che ne hanno segnato la fortuna iconografica.

The iconography of the painting is still at the center of a lively historiographical debate. This thesis aims to reconstruct the critical and interpretative path that led to the current iconographic understanding of the painting Sacred and Profane Love, focusing on the fundamental stages that have marked its iconographic fortune.
