La cognizione sociale nella prima infanzia.

Abstract

Esiste un numeroso corpus di ricerche sulla cognizione sociale, ma per di più basata su bambini in età scolare e basata su esperimenti di laboratorio che vanno ad indagare alcune delle diverse sfaccettature di cui è composta la cognizione sociale e di cui è difficile, pertanto, averne una panoramica completa e che prenda in considerazione più aspetti simultaneamente. Da questo spunto è nato il tentativo di tradurre questi aspetti in domande semplici che mirano a tenere sott’ occhio i vari aspetti della cognizione sociale in un unico documento. Esso viene sottoposto ai genitori sfruttando la loro posizione privilegiata di osservatori del bambino continuativamente e nel corso del tempo che scorre. Il questionario è stato tradotto in italiano per poter provare, con questo studio pilota, ad ottenere gli stessi risultati di validità in altri Paesi. Caratteristica importante di questa intervista è l’utilizzo sui bambini più piccoli sin dalla prima infanzia. Viene presentata una panoramica degli studi in contrapposizione a questo metodo e viene fornita una spiegazione di come è nato e come è strutturato il questionario. Il corpus centrale di questa tesi è il confronto con un altro questionario che va ad indagare il temperamento del bambino, già validato per la lingua italiana. Questi primi risultati mostrano una relazione tra il questionario preso in esame e l’area del questionario sul temperamento che studia l’orientamento sociale: ciò fa ben sperare, in futuro, si possa utilizzare precocemente per poter individuare disturbi che di solito si diagnosticano in età scolare, anticipando l’eventuale trattamento arginando le difficoltà future.

There is a large body of research on social cognition, but moreover based on school-age children and based on laboratory experiments that investigate some of the different facets of which social cognition is composed and of which it is difficult, therefore, to have a complete overview that takes into account several aspects simultaneously. From this idea was born the attempt to translate these aspects into simple questions that aim to keep an eye on the various aspects of social cognition in a single document. It is submitted to the parents by exploiting their privileged position as observers of the child continuously and over the course of time. The questionnaire has been translated into Italian in order to try, with this pilot study, to obtain the same validity results in other countries. An important feature of this interview is that it is used on younger children from early childhood. An overview of the studies in contrast to this method and an explanation of how the questionnaire was born and how it is structured is provided. The central corpus of this thesis is the comparison with another questionnaire that investigates the temperament of the child, already validated for the Italian language. These first results show a relationship between the questionnaire examined and the area of the questionnaire on temperament that studies social orientation: this bodes well, in the future, it can be used early to be able to identify disorders that are usually diagnosed in school age, anticipating any treatment by stemming future difficulties.
