Il triage: sviluppi, modelli, criticità e ruolo dell'infermiere

Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: All’interno dell’equipe sanitaria la figura responsabile dell’accesso alle cure in Pronto Soccorso è l’infermiere; il triage è un processo di valutazione e classificazione svolto in totale autonomia da parte dell’infermiere che indirizza e determina il percorso del paziente che presentandosi in Pronto Soccorso presenta una domanda di assistenza e cura. È importante che il processo di triage venga svolto secondo quelle che sono i modelli di riferimento, linee guida e i protocolli operativi per erogare e garantire la miglior assistenza possibile. Obiettivo: l’obiettivo di questa tesi è analizzare il processo di triage intraospedaliero, gli sviluppi, i modelli di riferimento, le criticità che si presentano applicando il modello teorico alla realtà, le possibili soluzioni e come l’infermiere influisca e sia responsabile del processo. Materiali e metodi: la ricerca è stata svolta da giugno a settembre 2024 medianti la consultazione di libri, linee guida ed articoli scientifici all’interno di banche dati. Risultati: La ricerca di letteratura ha permesso di selezionare 5 articoli ed 1 libro rispondenti al quesito di ricerca. Complessivamente gli studi hanno indagato hanno indagato sullo svolgimento del processo di triage, i modelli teorici di riferimento, le criticità che si presentano nella realtà quotidiana ed alcune possibili soluzioni alternative. Conclusioni: I risultati della revisione hanno fornito una risposta al quesito iniziale analizzando il processo di triage con le sue variabili e il ruolo dell’infermiere.

ABSTRACT Background: The nurse is responsible for access to care in the Emergency Room; triage is a process of evaluation and classification carried out in total autonomy by the nurse who directs and determines the path of the patient who, presenting himself in Emergency Room presents a request for assistance and care. It is important that the triage process is carried out according to the reference models, guidelines and operational protocols in order to provide and ensure the best possible assistance. Objective: the aim of this thesis is to analyze the process of intra-hospital triage, developments, reference models, the criticalities that arise when applying the theoretical model to reality, the possible solutions and how the nurse influences and is responsible for the process. Materials and methods: the research was carried out from June to September 2024 through the consultation of books, guidelines and scientific articles within databases. Results: The literature search made it possible to select 5 articles and 1 book answering the research question. Overall, the studies investigated the development of the triage process, the theoretical reference models, the criticalities that arise in everyday life and some possible alternative solutions. Conclusions: The results of the review provided an answer to the initial question by analysing the triage process with its variables and the role of the nurse.
