La trascuratezza emotiva e il rifiuto genitoriale: un'analisi qualitativa di interviste sull'attaccamento dell'adulto

Abstract

Il presente lavoro nasce dall’interesse, a seguito di un’attenta lettura della letteratura, di attuare un’analisi qualitativa di trascritti di interviste sull’attaccamento dell’adulto, utilizzando il software T-lab, con l’intento di comprendere quali temi vengono usati nella narrazione di esperienze di trascuratezza emotiva e rifiuto genitoriale, da soggetti con tipologie di attaccamento differente. Dalla letteratura presente è emersa l’importanza dello studio e dell’approfondimento del costrutto di trascuratezza emotiva e rifiuto genitoriale, in quanto sembrano essere strettamente legati a modelli di attaccamento insicuro e allo sviluppo di psicopatologia. La ricerca è di carattere esplorativo, per cui, a partire da trascritti di interviste sull’attaccamento dell’adulto, tramite l’utilizzo del software T-lab è stato possibile individuare i temi emersi in risposta alla domanda numero sei dell’Adult Attachment Interview, la quale indaga il turbamento emotivo e la domanda numero otto, che indaga il rifiuto genitoriale. Una volta identificati i temi principali è stato possibile interpretare e descrivere le differenze nella narrazione di soggetti con attaccamento evitante, sicuro e disorganizzato. Da quanto è emerso nei risultati, le ipotesi di partenza sono state confermate rilevando una difficoltà dei soggetti evitanti e disorganizzati a narrare aspetti emotivi e relazionali, anche connessi a esperienze di attaccamento e maggior facilità a descrivere l’evento. A differenza dei soggetti sicuri, i quali hanno manifestato una narrazione coerente e ben integrata di aspetti emotivi e affettivi. Tale studio, quindi, ha permesso di apportare maggiori conoscenze sulle peculiarità narrative di soggetti con classificazione di attaccamento differente, nel racconto di un tema circoscritto, ovvero quello della trascuratezza emotiva e del rifiuto.

The present work stems from an interest, following a careful reading of the literature, to implement a qualitative analysis of adult attachment interview transcripts, using T-lab software, with the intention of understanding what themes are used in the narration of experiences of emotional neglect and parental rejection, by subjects with different attachment types. From the present literature, the importance of studying and investigating the construct of emotional neglect and parental rejection has emerged, as they seem to be closely related to insecure attachment patterns and the development of psychopathology. The research is exploratory in nature, so from transcripts of adult attachment interviews, through the use of T-lab software it was possible to identify themes that emerged in response to Adult Attachment Interview question number six, which investigates emotional upset, and question number eight, which investigates parental rejection. Once the main themes were identified, it was possible to interpret and describe the differences in the narratives of subjects with avoidant, secure and disorganized attachment. From what emerged in the results, the starting hypotheses were confirmed by noting a difficulty of avoidant and disorganized subjects in narrating emotional and relational aspects, including those related to attachment experiences, and greater ease in describing the event. In contrast to the secure subjects, who manifested a coherent and well-integrated narrative of emotional and affective aspects. This study, therefore, made it possible to bring more knowledge about the narrative peculiarities of subjects with different attachment classification in the narration of a circumscribed topic, namely that of emotional neglect and rejection.
