L'internamento manicomiale infantile dal fascismo alla legge Basaglia.

Abstract

Questa ricerca si occupa della salute mentale di bambine e bambini in un arco cronologico che va dal fascismo alla legge 180 del 1978. Il periodo scelto per quest’analisi vuole mettere in evidenza i nessi tra il potere coercitivo delle cosiddette “istituzioni totali” dall’avvento del regime fino alla chiusura dei manicomi. L’analisi dei processi di internamento manicomiale di lungo periodo dimostra come dal fascismo al primo dopoguerra repubblicano fossero subentrate innovazioni significative nel trattamento e nella custodia dei bambini. In questo il primo momento di svolta si ha solo con il decennio riformista fino alla legge Basaglia. La tesi prende in considerazione le istituzioni, le terapie e principali studiosi coinvolti.

his research addresses the mental health of girls and boys in a chronological span that goes from the fascist era to Law 180 of 1978. The time period chosen for this analysis aims to highlight the links between the power coercive nature of the so-called "Total institutions" from the advent of the regime to the closure of asylums. The analysis of long-term mental hospital internment processes demonstrates how, from fascism to the early republican post-war period, significant innovations emerged in treatment and custody of children. In this regard, the first turning point only occurred during the reformist decade, until the Basaglia Law. The thesis takes into consideration the institutions, therapies and main scholars involved.
