Titeuf: Bienvenue en adolescence ! Proposta di traduzione e analisi del fumetto di Zep

Abstract

“Bienvenue en adolescence !” (2015) è il quattordicesimo album delle serie di fumetti di Zep, nome d’arte di Philippe Chappuis, fumettista svizzero e ideatore del personaggio di Titeuf, protagonista delle omonime serie di fumetti. Il personaggio di Zep ha raggiunto una fama tale da essere tradotto in più di dieci lingue, approdando perfino in Cina. Dai fumetti sono derivate trasposizioni televisive sottoforma di cartoni animati e addirittura di film: “Titeuf – il film” diretto da Zep in prima persona, è infatti uscito nelle sale francesi nel 2011 e in quelle italiane nel 2013. Una caratteristica particolare del mondo titeufiano non è determinata soltanto dall’esuberante, a volte ingenuo, temperamento del protagonista dal ciuffo biondo, ma anche dal modo di parlare che contraddistingue la sua figura e quella di tutti i suoi amici. Il linguaggio e il lessico usati da Titeuf e dai suoi coetanei sono estremamente particolari, tipicamente giovanili, dove non mancano parole inventate o abbreviate spesso impiegate per camuffare dei turpiloqui. La natura giovanile e peculiare di questo fumetto mi ha spinta e incuriosita a volerne affrontare la traduzione in lingua italiana. Permettendomi di poter ‘giocare’ con il linguaggio giovanile francese e quello italiano attraverso un processo di esplorazione delle strategie e delle tecniche traduttive, dandomi la possibilità di presentare un lavoro innovativo e contemporaneo.

"Bienvenue en adolescence !" (2015) is the fourteenth album of the comic series created by Zep (Philippe Chappuis), the Swiss comic book creator of Titeuf, the main character of the series. Zep's character has achieved such popularity that it has been translated into more than ten languages, even landing in faraway China. TV transpositions in the form of cartoons and even movies came from the comics: "Titeuf – the Movie" was released in French theatres in 2011 and in Italian theatres in 2013. A unique aspect of Titeuf's world is not just the exuberant - naïve, at times - temperament of the main character but also the way of speaking that distinguishes him and all his friends. The language and the vocabulary used by Titeuf and his peers are peculiar, typically youth, in which invented and shortened words are never missing – often used to disguise foul language. This comic's youthful and peculiar nature has prompted and intrigued me to tackle its translation into Italian. Translating this comic and exploring the different translation strategies and techniques allowed me to 'play' between French and Italian youth language, giving me the chance to present an innovative and contemporary work.
