Disuguaglianze sociali:le origini e il genere in un'analisi psicosociale ed economica

Abstract

La società in cui viviamo ci pone davanti ad ostacoli giornalieri e ognuno cerca di affrontarli nella maniera che ritiene più opportuna. Le disuguaglianze sociali ed economiche rappresentano forse l’ostacolo più grande della nostra società per raggiungere la felicità. Nel presente lavoro, si è cercato di approfondire, in una prospettiva primariamente psicosociale, in che modo le disuguaglianze si mettono in atto e perché invece di diminuire aumentano. Il lavoro è stato dedicato in parte all’individuazione di una spiegazione specifica per le disuguaglianze di genere attuate nel mondo del lavoro. Essendo il gender gap particolarmente pervasivo nel mercato lavorativo, si è reso necessario approfondire anche una prospettiva più economica, soprattutto esaminando i lavori del recente premio Nobel Claudia Goldin. La domanda da cui bisogna rispondere è: la prospettiva psicosociale e la prospettiva economica sono in contrasto tra loro o si possono ritenere complementari? Nella prima parte di questo lavoro sono stati individuati i meccanismi alla base del nostro comportamento e delle nostre motivazioni, sottolineando i processi primari che spiegano la persistenza della disuguaglianza sociale. Conseguentemente, si è approfondito il legame delle classi sociali con la disuguaglianza che ha permesso di individuare i differenti effetti su classi sociali inferiori e superiori. Infine, è stato necessario approfondire le conseguenze del fenomeno per avere una situazione completa. La seconda parte del lavoro è servita per analizzare le spiegazioni psicosociali al divario di genere nel mercato lavorativo seguite da una spiegazione in una prospettiva economica, che prende in considerazione. Una volta aver messo insieme i diversi elementi per un confronto tra approccio psicosociale e approccio puramente economico, è stato possibile rispondere alla domanda iniziale che è stata posta.

The society in which we live presents us with daily obstacles, and everyone tries to deal with them in the way they see fit. Social and economic inequalities are perhaps the greatest obstacle our society faces achieving happiness. In the present work, we have tried to deepen, in a primarily psychosocial perspective, how inequalities are implemented and why instead of decreasing they increase. Part of the work was devoted to identifying a specific explanation for gender inequalities in the world of work. Since the gender gap is particularly pervasive in the labour market, it was also necessary to explore a more economic perspective, especially by examining the work of the recent Nobel Prize winner Claudia Goldin. The question that needs to be answered is: are the psychosocial perspective and the economic perspective at odds with each other or can they be considered complementary? In the first part of this work, the mechanisms underlying our behavior and motivations were identified, emphasizing the primary processes that explain the persistence of social inequality. Consequently, the link between social classes and inequality has been deepened, which has made it possible to identify the different effects on lower and upper social classes. Finally, it was necessary to investigate the consequences of the phenomenon in order to have a complete situation. The second part of the work served to analyse psychosocial explanations for the gender gap in the labour market followed by an explanation from an economic perspective, which it takes into account. Once the different elements had been put together for a comparison between the psychosocial approach and the purely economic approach, it was possible to answer the initial question that was asked.
