Il ruolo delle serie Tv nel plasmare i valori e le convinzioni della società

Abstract

Il presente lavoro di tesi si pone l’obiettivo di analizzare il ruolo che le serie tv hanno avuto nel plasmare alcuni dei valori e delle convinzioni presenti nella società contemporanea. Nate come fenomeno radiofonico e ispiratesi alle soap opera , si diffondono nel mondo televisivo nei primi anni Cinquanta per riempire i palinsesti. La narrativa seriale ha permesso agli autori di poter scrivere in modo più libero, giorno per giorno, lasciando suspence nei telespettatori e mantenendo il loro interesse vivo. A partire dal 2020, con la diffusione della pandemia di Covid-19 che ha portato ad un lockdown globale, e con l’avanzare delle tecnologie dei mezzi di comunicazione di massa, soprattutto delle smart tv , si è registrato un vero e proprio boom dello streaming video. Le piattaforme di servizi streaming hanno visto crescere i loro abbonati e hanno iniziato a produrre contenuti capaci di catturare e fidelizzare il proprio pubblico, creando progetti efficaci e coinvolgenti che hanno ottenuto visibilità e attenzioni a livello globale, riuscendo ad influenzare e a plasmare vari settori della società. Le serie tv mettono in scena i conflitti e le grandi tematiche presenti nella vita di tutti i giorni e i loro protagonisti riescono ad interpretare i continui mutamenti dell’essere umano rappresentando così la realtà.

The aim of this thesis is to analyse the role that TV series have played in shaping some of the values and beliefs present in contemporary society. Born as a radio phenomenon and inspired by soap operas, they spread to the television world in the early fifties to fill the schedules. Serial fiction has allowed authors to be able to write more freely, day by day, leaving suspense in viewers and keeping their interest alive. Since 2020, with the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic that led to a global lockdown and with the advancement of mass media technologies, especially smart TVs, there has been a real boom in video streaming. Streaming service platforms have seen their subscribers grow and have begun to produce content capable of capturing and keeping their audiences, creating effective and engaging projects that have gained visibility and attention globally, managing to influence and shape various sectors of society. The TV series stage the conflicts, and the great themes present in everyday life and their protagonists can interpret the continuous changes of the human being, thus representing the reality.
