La figura materna nelle fiabe dei fratelli Grimm

Abstract

Questa tesi ha come obiettivo l'analisi del ruolo della madre nelle fiabe dei fratelli Grimm. In particolare, ci concentreremo sulla rappresentazione della figura materna e sui diversi ruoli che essa assume all'interno di queste narrazioni. L'elaborato è strutturato in tre parti, ognuna delle quali esamina una categoria di madri presenti nei racconti. Nella prima parte, esploreremo la figura materna in una luce più oscura, concentrandoci sulle matrigne e sul tema della morte nelle fiabe. La seconda parte si concentrerà su madri adottive e sul tema dell'abbandono dei figli, analizzando come queste figure enigmatiche si sviluppano nelle storie. Infine, nella terza parte, esamineremo la madre come una figura positiva, una guida spirituale per i protagonisti delle fiabe. In ciascuno dei tre capitoli, condurremo un'analisi attenta delle fiabe e cercheremo di comprendere le ragioni psicologiche e storiche che collegano queste storie al contesto culturale in continua evoluzione. Inoltre, esploreremo come queste narrazioni popolari si sono adattate nel corso del tempo, riflettendo le idee e le sensibilità delle diverse epoche.

This thesis aims to analyze the role of the mother in the fairy tales of the Grimm brothers. We will focus on the representation of the maternal figure and the different roles that it assumes within these narratives. The work is structured in three parts, each of which examines a category of mothers present in the stories. In the first part, we will explore the maternal figure in a darker light, focusing on stepmothers and the theme of death in fairy tales. The second part will focus on adoptive mothers and the theme of abandonment of children, analyzing how these enigmatic figures develop in the stories. Finally, in the third part, we will examine the mother as a positive figure, a spiritual guide for the protagonists of the fairy tales. In each of the three chapters, we will conduct a careful analysis of the fairy tales and try to understand the psychological and historical reasons that link these stories to the constantly evolving cultural context. Furthermore, we will explore how these popular narratives have adapted over time, reflecting the ideas and sensibilities of different eras.
