Inclusione sociale di una disabilità poco conosciuta: la sindrome di Tourette.

Abstract

La presente tesi prende in esame la Sindrome di Tourette, i sintomi manifestati, origine e sviluppi, la possibile diagnosi e le malattie associate, cercando di verificare quanto sia conosciuta dal punto di vista medico e sociale. Si tratta inoltre del percorso legislativo in Italia, che va dalla totale esclusione alla graduale inclusione delle persone con disabilità, esaminando quali siano gli strumenti e le metodologie necessarie per favorire la massima inclusione di persone con la sindrome di Tourette. Il primo e il secondo capitolo della tesi si concludono con i risultati ottenuti da un questionario sviluppato dalla sottoscritta e divulgato a conoscenti, amici e parenti per verificare quante persone effettivamente conoscono la sindrome di Tourette, come ne sono venuti a conoscenza e quanto ciò influisca sulla vita delle persone che ne sono affette. Nell' ultimo capitolo avremo l'opportunità di sentire il pensiero di specialisti del settore e di coloro che sono affetti dalla sindrome e hanno deciso di dare la propria testimonianza in materia. Dedicheremo anche la nostra attenzione anche ad alcuni personaggi del mondo dello spettacolo affetti dalla sindrome, valutando le loro reazioni col pubblico.

This thesis examines Tourette's Syndrome, the symptoms manifested, origin and developments, the possible diagnosis and associated diseases, trying to verify how much it is known from a medical and social point of view. It also deals with the legislative path in Italy, which goes from total exclusion to the gradual inclusion of people with disabilities, examining what tools and methodologies are necessary to promote maximum inclusion of people with Tourette's syndrome. The first and second chapter of the thesis conclude with the results obtained from a questionnaire developed by the undersigned and disseminated to acquaintances, friends and relatives to verify how many people actually know Tourette's syndrome, how they became aware of it and how much this influences the lives of people affected by it. In the last chapter we will have the opportunity to hear the thoughts of specialists in the sector and those who are affected by the syndrome and have decided to give their testimony on the matter. We will also dedicate our attention to some characters from the entertainment world affected by the syndrome, evaluating their reactions with the public.
