Donne in bianco e nero, Femministi nell'Italia degli anni Settanta attraverso gli scritti di Tano D'Amico

Abstract

La tesi intende analizzare la figura femminile come protagonista della società italiana durante gli anni Settanta, periodo caratterizzato da importanti lotte femministe. In particolare, il lavoro si concentra sul ruolo della fotografia nel documentare e rappresentare le diverse fasi del movimento femminista italiano, grazie alla produzione del fotografo Tano D’Amico. Obiettivo di questa tesi dunque, è fare assieme agli scatti del fotografo il ‘viaggio in bianco e nero’ che accompagnerà attraverso immagini e fotografie simboliche la storia italiana e le lotte delle donne negli anni Settanta, arrivando poi in conclusione ad uno sguardo sul presente. Vi è quindi, una visione dettagliata della rappresentazione delle donne nella società italiana di quegli anni, che offre interessanti spunti di riflessione sulla rappresentazione fotografica femminile e il ruolo della fotografia come agente di storia e nell'affermazione dei diritti di genere.

The thesis intends to analyze the female figure as the protagonist of Italian society during the Seventies, a period characterized by important feminist struggles. In particular, the work focuses on the role of photography in documenting and representing the different phases of the Italian feminist movement, thanks to the production of the photographer Tano D'Amico. Therefore, the aim of this thesis is to make, together with the photographer's shots, the 'black and white journey' that will accompany Italian history and women's struggles in the 1970s through symbolic images and photographs, finally arriving at a look at the present. There is therefore a detailed view of the representation of women in Italian society of those years, which offers interesting insights into female photographic representation and the role of photography as an agent of history and in the affirmation of gender rights.
