Le Relazioni USA - CINA da Nixon a Clinton

Abstract

Questa tesi si propone di analizzare le relazioni tra Stati Uniti e Cina alla luce delle crescenti tensioni geopolitiche tra i due Paesi, aggravatesi con la Guerra in Ucraina e con la sempre maggiore competizione sul fronte delle nuove tecnologie, rientrando in uno dei principali problemi sullo scenario Internazionale. Nello specifico, viene studiato il periodo che intercorre tra la presidenza di Nixon e quella di Clinton, indagando il tipo di rapporto che legava i due Paesi e come questo sia cambiato nel tempo a seconda delle circostanze e delle necessità. Il fine è quello di comprendere le ragioni che risiedono dietro all’instaurazione dei legami, le aspirazioni dei due Stati, e come tutto questo si è evoluto con il passare degli anni, per poterlo porre a confronto con i recenti avvenimenti.

This thesis aims to analyse the relationship between the United States and China in light of the growing geopolitical tensions between the two countries, aggravated by the War in Ukraine and the increasing competition on the new technology front, as part of one of the main issues on the international scene. Specifically, the period between the Nixon and Clinton presidencies is studied, investigating the type of relationship that bound the two countries and how this has changed over time according to circumstances and needs. The aim is to understand the reasons behind the establishment of ties, the aspirations of the two states, and how all this has evolved over the years, in order to be able to years, in order to compare it with recent events.
