Le start up innovative caratteristiche e metodi di finanziamento. Il caso: corticale

Abstract

Al giorno d’oggi ci stiamo muovendo in un mondo in continua evoluzione, sempre alla ricerca di nuove tecnologie che possano agevolarci nella vita di tutti i giorni ma anche che possano aiutarci nella risoluzione di problemi complessi ed articolati. Entrando più nello specifico nel corso degli ultimi decenni, gli studi sul cervello umano hanno registrato progressi senza precedenti grazie all'incessante sviluppo delle neuroscienze. L'interesse crescente nei confronti del funzionamento cerebrale e delle sue potenzialità ha spinto la ricerca verso nuove frontiere, aprendo la strada a soluzioni innovative per comprendere e sfruttare appieno il potenziale di questa complessa macchina biologica. In questa prospettiva, le start-up innovative svolgono un ruolo cruciale nell'apportare nuove idee, tecnologie e approcci al campo delle neuroscienze. Una delle realtà più promettenti in questo panorama è rappresentata da una start-up all’avanguardia di nome “CORTICALE S.R.L.” che si concentra sulla produzione di sensori neurocelebrali. Questi dispositivi rivoluzionari hanno il potenziale per trasformare il nostro modo di comprendere e interagire con il cervello umano, aprendo un mondo di opportunità nella diagnosi e nel trattamento delle patologie neurologiche, nell'interfacciamento uomo-macchina e persino nella potenziamento delle capacità cognitive. La presente tesi si propone di analizzare in dettaglio questa start-up innovativa, partendo dalla definizione generale di “start-up” esaminando poi le caratteristiche e le tipologie. Nel corso della ricerca, saranno considerati diversi aspetti fondamentali, tra cui l'origine e la motivazione alla base della creazione della start-up, i principali obiettivi aziendali, le tecnologie e metodologie impiegate per sviluppare i sensori neurocelebrali, nonché i progressi raggiunti fino a oggi. Successivamente ci soffermeremo ad analizzare il panorama italiano e i motivi per cui spesso queste aziende hanno difficoltà a sopravvivere.

Nowadays we are moving in a constantly evolving world, always looking for new technologies that can make our everyday life easier but also that can help us solve complex and articulated problems. Going more specifically over the last few decades, studies on the human brain have made unprecedented progress thanks to the incessant development of neuroscience. The growing interest in brain functioning and its potential has pushed research towards new frontiers, paving the way for innovative solutions to understand and fully exploit the potential of this complex biological machine. In this perspective, innovative start-ups play a crucial role in bringing new ideas, technologies and approaches to the field of neuroscience. One of the most promising realities in this panorama is represented by an avant-garde start-up named “CORTICALE S.R.L.” which focuses on the production of neurobrain sensors. These groundbreaking devices have the potential to transform the way we understand and interact with the human brain, opening up a world of opportunities in diagnosing and treating neurological conditions, human-machine interface, and even enhancing cognitive abilities. This thesis aims to analyze this innovative start-up in detail, starting from the general definition of "start-up" and then examining its characteristics and typologies. During the research, several fundamental aspects will be considered, including the origin and motivation behind the creation of the start-up, the main company objectives, the technologies and methodologies used to develop neurobrain sensors, as well as the progress achieved up to Today. We will then stop to analyze the Italian panorama and the reasons why these companies often have difficulty surviving. In the second chapter we will proceed with the analysis of the life stages of these companies and then move on to the main financing methods. Finally, in the third and final chapter we will enter the heart of the thesis, proceeding with the analysis
