Il ruolo della diplomazia non ufficiale nella prevenzione e risoluzione dei conflitti.

Abstract

L’intento della tesi è definire il concetto di diplomazia non ufficiale e descrivere il funzionamento di diverse categorie di interventi non ufficiali, analizzando le potenzialità e le eventuali criticità di questo genere di operazioni. Attraverso l’analisi del funzionamento dei comitati per la pace, dei sistemi di early warning and early response, delle women’s situation rooms, dei problem solving workshops, dell’azione degli imprenditori privati di pace e delle organizzazioni religiose, è possibile affermare che l’intervento della diplomazia non ufficiale possa contribuire efficacemente alla prevenzione e alla risoluzione dei conflitti. Per questo motivo, è necessario un maggior numero di studi in grado di analizzare in profondità questo fenomeno e le variabili che influiscono su di esso.

The purpose of the thesis is to define the concept of unofficial diplomacy and describe different categories of unofficial interventions, analyzing the potential and any critical issues of this kind of operation. Through the analysis of the functioning of the peace committees, the early warning and early response systems, the women's situation rooms, the problem solving workshops, the action of private peace entrepreneurs and the religious organizations, it is possible to state that the intervention of unofficial diplomacy can effectively contribute to the prevention and resolution of conflicts. For this reason, more studies are needed to analyze this phenomenon and the variables that influence it.
