País Vasco e ETA: una storia di nazionalismo, indipendentismo e terrorismo

Abstract

In questa tesi di laurea si illustrano le vicende relative alla storia del País Vasco e alla nascita del sentimento nazionalista ed indipendentista in parte della sua popolazione, e conseguentemente alla nascita del gruppo terroristico ETA e al suo periodo di attività. Sono descritti tutti i vari passaggi messi in atto dal movimento nazionalista prima e dall'organizzazione terroristica poi, riportati in modo oggettivo e lineare grazie alla consultazione di opere di rispettabili esperti, per concludere infine che si tratta di una questione molto complicata, sulla quale sarebbe azzardato avere un punto di vista netto. Nell'ultimo capitolo vi è inoltre un paragone fra situazione spagnola e italiana relativa a quel periodo. L'analisi arriva fino ai giorni nostri ed è interessante, anche per i più giovani, scoprire come storie del genere siano così vicine sia temporalmente che territorialmente.

This dissertation illustrates the history of the País Vasco and the birth of nationalist and pro-independence sentiment in part of its population, and subsequent the birth of the terrorist group ETA and its period of activity. It describes all the various steps put in place by the nationalist movement first and by the terrorist organization then, reported in an objective and linear way thanks to the consultation of works of respected experts, to finally conclude that this is a very complicated issue, on which it would be risky to have a clear point of view. In the last chapter there is also a comparison between the Spanish and Italian situation relating to that period. The analysis goes up to the present day and it is interesting, even for the youngest, to discover how such stories are so close both temporally and territorially.
