La moneta europea come simbolo d'integrazione politica

Abstract

La tesi parla del complesso rapporto che sussiste tra unione economica e unione monetaria all'interno della storia europea. Una storia europea che si è fatta attraverso le istituzioni stesse e alcune figure centrali nel processo evolutivo dell'Unione europea. Il processo europeo si è svolto a fasi alterne nei diversi paesi, che però hanno cercato di mantenere una strategia di comune interesse, senza mai uscire dall'ottica dello spirito europeo dei federalisti. L'unione monetaria è una questione fondamentale per la realizzazione del disegno politico europeo in chiave internazionale. Per arricchire e avere un riscontro tangibile del tempo passato tra ieri e oggi sono stati intervistati alcuni esperti in storiografia europea che dessero chiavi di lettura alternative e innovative a quella che è ad oggi l'unione europea, attingendo dal loro passato. Infine, si è potuto constatare che l'Unione europea è un processo in divenire non definibile in termini certi.

This thesis discusses the complex relationship between economic union and monetary union within European history. A European history that has been made through the institutions themselves and certain central figures in the evolutionary process of the European Union. The European process has taken place in alternating stages in the different countries, but they have tried to maintain a strategy of common interest, without ever leaving the view of the European spirit of the federalists. Monetary union is a key issue for the realization of the European political design from an international perspective. To enrich and have a tangible reflection about the time passed between yesterday and today, some experts in European historiography were interviewed to give alternative and innovative keys to what the European union is to date, drawing from their past. Finally, it could be seen that the European Union is a process in the making that cannot be defined in definite terms.
