Le Botteghe Storiche della Città di Genova attraverso un repertorio di metà ottocento

Abstract

La necessità e l'impegno necessario per la rivitalizzazione della funzione commerciale del centro storico di Genova, con lo scopo di valorizzare la vivibilità e redditività, di quella parte della città che, al pari delle altre, ha sofferto le conseguenze della recessione, dovuta in parte anche allo smantellamento del polo industriale, passa anche attraverso la conoscenza della distribuzione commerciale sul territorio nel corso del XIX secolo. Analisi, che ci porta a rivalutare l'apporto sociale e culturale dell'espressione commerciale del passato. Necessità, ambizioni, mode che emergono in controluce, come in un prezioso caleidoscopio, attraverso lo studio di un registro, quello dei pesi e misure, voluto dall'amministrazione centrale per il controllo del commercio. Il contributo ambizioso che vuole dare questo studio è quello di porre un ulteriore piccolo tassello all'approfondimento di questo argomento, finora relegato alla descrizione in qualche dépliant per turisti.

The need and commitment necessary for the revitalization of the commercial function of the historic center of Genoa, with the aim of enhancing the livability and profitability of that part of the city which, like the others, has suffered the consequences of the recession, due in also part of the dismantling of the industrial pole, also passes through the knowledge of commercial distribution in the area during the nineteenth century. Analysis, which leads us to re-evaluate the social and cultural contribution of the commercial expression of the past. Needs, ambitions, fashions that emerge against the light, as in a precious kaleidoscope, through the study of a register of weights and measures, wanted by the central administration for trade control. The ambitious contribution that this study wants to give is that of placing a further small piece in the study of this topic, until now relegated to the description in some brochures for tourists.
