| dc.description.abstract | This thesis examines the individual processes and collective dynamics that may contribute to the development of antisocial behaviour, with particular attention to the role of education in prevention. Drawing on an analysis of the scientific literature, it explores the affective and cognitive components of empathy, the influence of early relationships and adverse experiences, and different patterns of empathy deficits. It then examines social processes, including obedience to authority, conformity, moral disengagement, dehumanisation, and desensitisation to violence. Finally, it discusses the dual role of education, which can reinforce obedience and control or promote critical thinking, inclusion, and responsibility. The analysis suggests that cruelty cannot be attributed to a single cause but requires an understanding of the interaction between individuals and their social contexts. Prevention therefore calls for educational interventions combined with social and institutional responsibility, acknowledging both the potential and the limitations of education. | it_IT |
| en_UK |
