Abstract

Questo elaborato tratta il rapporto che intercorre tra i bisogni e i diritti dei bambini e le possibili esperienze avverse o traumi, offrendo una panoramica di quale è il ruolo di un assistente sociale in date circostanze. La tesi è suddivisa in tre capitoli. Il primo capitolo affronta i bisogni dei bambini con il contributo di determinate teorie psicologiche e tratta, inoltre, la normativa di riferimento. Il secondo capitolo tratta il concetto di trauma descrivendone le principali forme e gli effetti che questo ha sullo sviluppo. Il terzo capitolo, invece, illustra un caso pratico inerente al tema, così da delineare il lavoro dell'assistente sociale.

This document explores how children’s needs and rights relate to the adverse experiences or traumas they may encounter, and it highlights the role of the social worker in responding to these situations. The thesis is organized into three chapters. The first chapter introduces children’s fundamental needs, based on psychological theories and outlining the main legal frameworks that protect them. The second chapter focuses on the notion of trauma, describing its primary forms and examining how it can affect a child’s emotional, cognitive, and relational development. The third chapter presents a practical case study connected to these themes, illustrating how a social worker intervenes and supports the child throughout the process.
