Dall'informazione all'educazione: il ruolo dell'infermiere nell'assistenza ai pazienti affetti da fibrosi cistica.

Abstract

La Fibrosi Cistica è una patologia genetica cronica e progressiva che coinvolge principalmente l'apparato respiratorio e digerente, richiedendo un'assistenza continua e multidisciplinare. In questo contesto, l'infermiere assume un ruolo fondamentale non solo nell'assistenza clinica ma anche e soprattutto nel processo di informazione ed educazione dei pazienti e della famiglia. Questo elaborato si propone come obiettivo quello di sottolineare l’importanza della figura professionale dell’infermiere nella cura di malattie croniche e degenerative come la Fibrosi Cistica nonché evidenziare l’importanza dell’empowerment del paziente nella gestione quotidiana della malattia. Attraverso una attenta revisione della letteratura e l’analisi delle linee guida aggiornate, la revisione letteraria conferma come una comunicazione efficace, una continuità assistenziale e una corretta educazione terapeutica rappresentano strumenti fondamentali per migliorare l’aderenza alle terapie, riducendo le riacutizzazioni e promuovendo una migliore qualità della vita nel lungo periodo. Conferma inoltre come sia fondamentale il contributo dell’infermiere all’interno del team multidisciplinare dei centri specializzati e come sia proprio nella figura dell’infermiere che i caregiver e i pazienti trovano il supporto psicologico durante tutte le fasi della malattia. Infine, viene evidenziata l’importanza della formazione specifica dell’infermiere nell’ambito della fibrosi cistica, al fine di sviluppare competenze relazionali, educative e cliniche sempre più mirate. Il passaggio dall’informazione all’educazione rappresenta dunque un elemento chiave per un’assistenza infermieristica centrata sulla persona, capace di rispondere in modo pro attivo e consapevole ai bisogni complessi dei pazienti affetti da questa patologia ancora oggi incurabile .

Cystic Fibrosis is a chronic and progressive genetic pathology that mainly involves the respiratory and digestive systems, requiring continuous and multidisciplinary assistance. In this context, the nurse takes on a fundamental role not only in clinical care but also and above all in the process of information and education of patients and the family. This paper aims to emphasize the importance of the professional figure of the nurse in the care of chronic and degenerative diseases such as Cystic Fibrosis as well as highlight the importance of patient empowerment in the daily management of the disease. Through a careful review of the literature and the analysis of updated guidelines, the literary review confirms how effective communication, continuity of care and proper therapeutic education are fundamental tools to improve adherence to therapies, reducing exacerbations and promoting a better quality of life in the long run. It also confirms how fundamental the contribution of the nurse is within the multidisciplinary team of specialized centers and how it is precisely in the figure of the nurse that caregivers and patients find psychological support during all phases of the disease. Finally, the importance of nurse-specific training in the area of cystic fibrosis is highlighted, in order to develop increasingly targeted relational, educational and clinical skills. The transition from information to education therefore represents a key element for person-centered nursing care, capable of responding proactively and consciously to the complex needs of patients with this pathology that is still incurable today .
