Applicazione del sistema di certificazione LEED ad edifici prefabbricati in legno

Abstract

La tesi si concentra sull’adattamento di un edificio prefabbricato in legno già esistente, con l'obiettivo di ottimizzare le sue caratteristiche in conformità ai requisiti della certificazione LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). Siamo partite da una struttura preesistente, affrontando la possibilità di un intervento in diverse zone di interesse così da vedere se fosse possibile migliorarne le performance in termini di sostenibilità ambientale, efficienza energetica e benessere degli abitanti. Sono stati analizzati vari aspetti, tra cui la scelta dei materiali utilizzati in costruzione, la reintroduzione di aree verdi, la scelta di piante adatte al luogo di intervento, l'inserimento di un sistema fotovoltaico e di raccolta dell'acqua. Il lavoro ha messo in luce come l’adattamento di un edificio prefabbricato in legno possa rispondere a criteri di sostenibilità, senza stravolgere la struttura originaria, ma solamente implementando soluzioni adatte ad edifici già esistenti. Questo studio cerca di mettere in evidenza le azioni che si possono mettere in pratica per rendere più green un edificio che, anticipatamente, è stato costruito senza un particolare pensiero a riguardo.

This thesis focuses on the adaptation of an existing prefabricated wooden building, with the aim of optimising its characteristics in accordance with LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification requirements. We started from a pre-existing structure, addressing the possibility of an intervention in different areas of interest to see if it was possible to improve its performance in terms of environmental sustainability, energy efficiency and the well-being of the inhabitants. Various aspects were analysed, including the choice of materials used in construction, the reintroduction of green areas, the choice of plants suitable for the site of intervention, and the inclusion of a photovoltaic and water collection system. The work highlighted how the adaptation of a prefabricated wooden building can meet sustainability criteria, without disrupting the original structure, but only by implementing solutions suitable for existing buildings. This study tries to highlight the actions that can be put into practice to make a building that was built without any particular thought in advance greener.
