L'aspetto psicologico delle malattie oncologiche nel nucleo familiare.

Abstract

La presente tesi affronta il tema della psico-oncologia pediatrica, focalizzandosi in particolare sugli aspetti psicologici legati alla leucemia infantile. Viene analizzato l’impatto della malattia oncologica sul bambino e sulla sua famiglia, con attenzione alle dinamiche emotive e comportamentali che ne derivano. Un’ampia sezione è dedicata ai vissuti dei genitori e alle loro modalità di adattamento alla diagnosi del figlio. Particolare rilievo è dato al percorso psicologico del paziente sottoposto a trapianto di midollo osseo. La tesi illustra inoltre il ruolo del reparto di oncologia pediatrica come contesto di cura e supporto, evidenziando strumenti e interventi psicologici a sostegno del bambino. In conclusione, viene trattato il delicato momento del rientro a scuola, fase significativa nel processo di recupero e reintegrazione sociale del giovane paziente.

This thesis addresses the topic of pediatric psycho-oncology, focusing particularly on the psychological aspects related to childhood leukemia. It analyzes the impact of oncological illness on the child and their family, with attention to the emotional and behavioral dynamics involved. A significant section is devoted to the parents’ experiences and their coping strategies in response to the child’s diagnosis. Special emphasis is placed on the psychological journey of the patient undergoing bone marrow transplantation. The thesis also examines the role of the pediatric oncology ward as a setting for care and psychological support, highlighting tools and interventions used to assist the child. Finally, it discusses the sensitive phase of returning to school, a key step in the recovery and social reintegration of the young patient.
