Abstract

Elaborato strutturato in tre capitoli. Il primo tratta l’Homo di Neanderthal in modo generale; la storia delle ricerche, la cronologia e l’habitat. Il secondo capitolo si concentra sul sito dei Balzi Rossi; con una descrizione generale e un approfondimento sulle evidenze musteriane. Il terzo capitolo mette in relazione il sito con il contesto regionale ligure.

The work is structured in three chapters. The first deals with the Homo Neanderthal in general; the history of research, the chronology and the habitat. The second chapter focuses on the Balzi Rossi site; with a general description and an in-depth analysis of the Mousterian evidence. The third chapter relates the site to the Ligurian regional context.
