La cognizione sociale nella Human-Robot interaction

Abstract

In questa tesi, mi propongo di esplorare ed esaminare la cognizione sociale nell'interazione uomo-robot, analizzando i principali quadri teorici, presentando le principali piattaforme robotiche e discutendo le potenziali implicazioni psicosociali che ne possono derivare. Inizierò fornendo una definizione completa di cognizione sociale, sia da una prospettiva puramente umana che nel contesto dell'interazione uomo-robot. Successivamente, esplorerò i ruoli che i robot possono svolgere nelle dinamiche sociali e le tipologie di robot comunemente coinvolte nelle interazioni sociali. Nel secondo capitolo, mi concentrerò specificamente sulla cognizione sociale in presenza di robot. Descriverò innanzitutto i fattori robotici che influenzano la percezione umana, per poi delineare le possibili risposte emotive e comportamentali ai robot. Partendo da questa base, analizzerò i modelli di apprendimento sociale nei robot. Questa sezione condurrà a una discussione più approfondita di due aspetti chiave: le capacità cognitive dei robot e il loro potenziale per lo sviluppo di competenze sociali. Infine, concluderò affrontando le implicazioni etiche legate alla privacy e alla sicurezza degli utenti che interagiscono con i robot.

In this thesis, I aim to explore and examine social cognition within human-robot interaction, by analyzing the main theoretical frameworks, presenting key robotic platforms, and discussing the potential psychosocial implications that may arise. I will begin by providing a comprehensive definition of social cognition, both from a purely human perspective and in the context of human-robot interaction. Following this, I will explore the roles robots can play in social dynamics and the types of robots commonly involved in social interactions. In the second chapter, I will focus specifically on social cognition in the presence of robots. I will first describe the robotic factors that influence human perception, and then outline the possible emotional and behavioral responses to robots. From this basis, I will analyze models of social learning in robots. This section will lead to a more in-depth discussion of two key aspects: the cognitive abilities of robots and their potential for developing social competencies. Finally, I will conclude by addressing the ethical implications related to the privacy and security of users interacting with robots.
