Disturbi Specifici dell'Apprendimento

Abstract

Durante il mio percorso universitario ho maturato un forte interesse verso i Disturbi Specifici dell’Apprendimento (DSA), una motivazione nata non solo per ragioni puramente accademiche, ma anche per motivi più personali. I DSA interessano bambini e ragazzi che, pur avendo un’intelligenza nella norma, incontrano difficoltà rilevanti nella lettura, nella scrittura o nel calcolo. Questi ostacoli non si limitano a influenzare il rendimento scolastico, ma incidono anche sull’autostima, sulle relazioni sociali e, più in generale, sul benessere psicologico. In questa tesi ho deciso di esplorare diversi aspetti legati ai DSA; dagli strumenti diagnostici impiegati per identificarli, alle possibili comorbidità con altri disturbi del neurosviluppo, fino all’impatto emotivo che tali difficoltà possono avere nella quotidianità. Ho voluto inoltre approfondire il tema della crescita, concentrandomi sul percorso che porta all’età adulta, con particolare attenzione al mondo universitario e lavorativo, per comprendere come l’esperienza di chi convive con un DSA evolva nel tempo e si modifichi nelle diverse fasi di vita.

During my university studies, I developed a strong interest in Specific Learning Disorders a motivation that stems not only from academic reasons but also from more personal one. Specific Learning Disorders affect children and adolescents who, despite having average intelligence, experience significant difficulties in reading, writing, or mathematics. These challenges not only impact academic performance but also influence self-esteem, social relationships, and overall psychological well-being. In this thesis, I chose to explore various aspects related to Specific Learning Disorders: from the diagnostic tools used for their identification, to possible comorbidities with other neurodevelopmental disorders, and the emotional impact these difficulties can have on daily life. I also wanted to delve deeper into the theme of growth, focusing on the journey into adulthood, with particular attention to academic and professional settings, in order to understand how the experience of living with an Specific Learning Disorders evolves over time and changes across different life stages.
