\[
\sum_{\substack{x/2<n\le x\\ n\in \bold{B}}} a_n \sim \sum_{\substack{x/2<n\le x\\ n\in \bold{B}}} b_n,
\]
Tipo~I/II implica $C^-=C^+=1$, fornendo l'asintotica desiderata.
Inspired by the work of Ford and Maynard on prime--producing sieves, given a non-negative sequence $(a_n)$ supported on $(x/2,x]$, we study when it admits an asymptotic formula when restricted to integers that are sums of two squares. More precisely, given a simple comparison sequence $(b_n)$, we investigate whether Type I and Type II estimates are sufficient to guarantee
\[
\sum_{\substack{x/2<n\le x\\ n\in \bold{B}}} a_n \sim \sum_{\substack{x/2<n\le x\\ n\in \bold{B}}} b_n,
\]
as \(x\to\infty\), where $\bold{B}$ denotes the set of integers representable as a sum of two squares. This partly extends the methods of Ford-Maynard, which were concerned with the case when $\bold{B}$ is the set of prime numbers.
Following the framework of Ford-Maynard, we introduce constants $C^-(\gamma,\theta,\nu)$ and $C^+(\gamma,\theta,\nu)$ describing the optimal lower and upper bounds obtainable from these estimates alone.
We show that when $(\gamma, \theta, \nu)$ satisfies some simple conditions, then
Type~I/II implies $C^-=C^+=1$, yielding the desired asymptotic. Conversely, if the conditions fail,
we construct explicit counterexamples showing that $C^-~<~1~<~C^+$.
As in Ford and Maynard's work, our analysis relies on a truncated Linnik identity for vectors, a geometric study of particular
sets $\mathcal{R}$ and $\mathcal{C(R)}$, and a refined use of Type I/II estimates over short intervals. Additionally, we introduce an analysis of small prime divisors in this argument. This partly extends the Ford–Maynard theory from primes to integers representable as sums of two squares.
