This thesis explores the theoretical feasibility of spacetime tunnels, or wormholes, analyzing their geometric architecture and physical implications through the formalism of General Relativity. The research begins with the analysis of the Schwarzschild metric and its Kruskal-Szekeres maximal extension, mathematically demonstrating the causally impassable nature of the Einstein-Rosen bridge. Subsequently, the inverse problem is addressed by introducing the Morris-Thorne metric, axiomatically constructed upon the physical requirements necessary for safe human traversal, including the absence of event horizons and the containment of tidal forces within biologically tolerable limits. Topological analysis highlights that the opening of the tunnel toward two asymptotically flat universes requires the fulfillment of the flaring-out condition at the throat. By substituting this geometric constraint into the Einstein field equations, it is deduced that the radial tension must exceed the total mass-energy density of the local system. This result establishes the violation of the Null Energy Condition (NEC) and the consequent theoretical necessity for "exotic matter", revealing the structural limit that separates a theoretically admissible Lorentzian topology from the classical physical properties of ordinary matter.
