Abstract

This thesis examines Pilade, the play written by Pier Paolo Pasolini and published in 1967. Its main aim is to explore, through the lens of myth, the contemporary reality and the historical context in which the work was conceived. In particular, the study focuses on reviews, interviews, and letters that highlight the play's polysemic nature. The plurality of interpretations constitutes the core of this thesis, ultimately demonstrating how Pilade remains relevant today thanks to the richness of its multiple interpretative possibilities.
