Comprendere la variabilità individuale nelle prove inibitorie

Abstract

Questa tesi è dedicata allo studio delle funzioni esecutive e in particolare al costrutto dell'inibizione. Il primo capitolo approfondisce il ruolo dei processi cognitivi e del controllo inibitorio nello sviluppo in età prescolare. Il secondo capitolo si occupa della descrizione dei principali strumenti valutativi, esplorandone le criticità e i limiti. Infine, il terzo capitolo presenta i primi risultati di una revisione sistematica della letteratura, che ha l'obiettivo di valutare le capacità inibitorie nel periodo prescolare.

This thesis explores the field of executive functions, with a specific focus on the construct of inhibitory control. The first chapter examines the role of cognitive processes and inhibition during preschool development. The second chapter provides a detailed description of the primary assessment tools, exploring their limitations and critical methodological issues. Finally, the third chapter presents the preliminary results of a systematic literature review, aimed at evaluating inhibitory capacities during the preschool years and understanding their predictive role in development.
