JUAN MARSÉ TRA CENSURA E RISCRITTURA: ANALISI COMPARATIVA DI SI TE DICEN QUE CAÍ

Abstract

Il presente lavoro di tesi analizza l’opera di Juan Marsé, Si te dicen que caí, focalizzandosi sul rapporto tra la creazione letteraria e la censura durante il regime franchista. L’obiettivo centrale della ricerca è indagare su come le restrizioni del sistema censorio abbiano influenzato il processo di composizione e revisione dei testi. Il nucleo dello studio è costituito da un’analisi comparativa dettagliata tra le versioni originali non censurate e le edizioni effettivamente pubblicate sotto il controllo della censura. Attraverso questo confronto, sono state messe in luce le varianti testuali, i tagli e le modifiche messe in atto dall’autore. Particolare attenzione è rivolta allo studio delle strategie e delle strutture narrative adottate da Marsé per aggirare i divieti e trasmettere messaggi impliciti sulla realtà sociale dell’epoca. In conclusione, la tesi dimostra come la “riscrittura” in Marsé non rappresenti un limite, ma diventi uno spazio di resistenza letteraria e politica, ridefinendo il realismo critico dell'autore nel panorama della letteratura spagnola del dopoguerra.

This thesis analyzes Juan Marsé’s work, Si te dicen que caí, focusing on the relationship between literary creation and censorship during the Franco regime. The central objective of the research is to investigate how the restrictions of the censorship system influenced the composition and revision process of the texts. The core of the study consists of a detailed comparative analysis between the original uncensored versions and the editions actually published under censorship control. Through this comparison, textual variants, cuts, and modifications implemented by the author have been highlighted. Particular attention is given to the study of the strategies and narrative structures adopted by Marsé to bypass prohibitions and convey implicit messages about the social reality of the time. In conclusion, the thesis demonstrates how “rewriting” in Marsé's work does not represent a limitation, but becomes a space for literary and political resistance, redefining the author's critical realism within the landscape of post-war Spanish literature.
