“CAREGIVING, ATTACCAMENTO E DISREGOLAZIONE EMOTIVA NELLA RELAZIONE UOMO-ANIMALE DOMESTICO: UNO STUDIO EMPIRICO”

Abstract

Il presente lavoro indaga la relazione uomo–animale con particolare riferimento ai costrutti di attaccamento, caregiving e regolazione emotiva. È stato condotto uno studio longitudinale integrato con una procedura di Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA), coinvolgendo 35 adulti che avevano adottato un animale domestico da circa un mese. I partecipanti hanno compilato questionari volti a esaminare le relazioni tra i costrutti considerati. Il lavoro inquadra la relazione con l’animale nella Teoria dell’Attaccamento, analizzando il ruolo dell’animale come possibile figura di attaccamento, le dinamiche di caregiving e i loro effetti sul benessere psicologico.

The present study investigates the human–animal relationship with particular reference to the constructs of attachment, caregiving, and emotion regulation. A longitudinal study integrated with an Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) procedure was conducted, involving 35 adults who had adopted a companion animal approximately one month earlier. Participants completed a set of questionnaires aimed at examining the relationships among the constructs under investigation. The study frames the human–animal relationship within Attachment Theory, analyzing the role of the animal as a potential attachment figure, caregiving dynamics, and their effects on psychological well-being.
