Studio dell'impatto dei materiali usati nel packaging per la progettazione di una Green Surgery

Abstract

Il tirocinio è stato svolto nel Dipartimento di Chimica e Chimica Industriale nel gruppo di ricerca PoComBio in collaborazione con il Dipartimento di Scienze Chirurgiche e Diagnostiche Integrate (DISC). Durante il tirocinio, è stata condotta una ricerca sul packaging dei ferri chirurgici e degli altri imballaggi utilizzati durante gli interventi chirurgici, allo scopo di comprenderne la natura e quantificarne l’uso in ogni intervento. Il materiale, prevalentemente plastica, è stato caratterizzato con opportune tecniche d’analisi per verificare, in primo luogo, se si trattasse di materiali singoli o accoppiati e per proporne una riduzione ed eventuale riciclo in condizioni opportune.

The internship was carried out at the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry within the PoComBio research group, in collaboration with the Department of Surgical and Diagnostic Integrated Sciences (DISC). During the internship, research was conducted on the packaging of surgical instruments and other packaging materials used during surgical procedures, with the aim of understanding their nature and quantifying their use in each operation. The material, predominantly plastic, was characterized using appropriate analytical techniques to determine, first of all, whether it consisted of single or multilayer materials, and to propose their reduction and potential recycling under suitable conditions.
