Sicurezza Cibernetica e Protezione delle Infrastrutture Critiche Marittime

Abstract

Il mondo cibernetico è un mondo pericoloso, la protezione deve essere aumentata. La Cybersicurezza è fondamentale contro gli attacchi cibernetici. Le infrastrutture critiche marittime sono particolarmente vulnerabili a causa della loro dipendenza dai sistemi IT/OT e del loro ruolo centrale nella supply chain. Uno degli attacchi cibernetici più pericolosi nel settore marittimo è il Ransomware, un malware in grado di criptare dati e renderli inaccessibili fino a quando l'hacker non li decripta, di solito questo avviene a seguito della richiesta di un riscatto, appunto un "ransom". Il NotPetya è uno degli attacchi peggiori e più devastanti avvenuti nel settore marittimo, ha causato milioni di dollari di danni e paralizzato compagnie pubbliche e private. Il colosso globale A.P. Moller Maersk ha subito le conseguenze peggiori. I suoi terminal portuali, le sue navi e i suoi uffici sono stati resi completamente inutilizzabili. di conseguenza un piano di cybersicurezza massiccio è stato elaborato in modo da risanare i danni subiti e rendere la compagnia altamente resiliente.

Maritime critical infrastructures are particularly vulnerable to cyber attacks due to their reliance on IT/OT systems and their central role in the supply chain. One of the most dangerous cyber attacks for the maritime sector is the Ransomware, a malware able to encrypt data and make them unavailable until the attacker decrypt them, usually after the request of a ransom. The NotPetya attack is one of the most devastating attack happen in the maritime sector. It caused million of dollars of damages and it paralyzed pubblic and private companies, the global maritime company A.P. Moller Maersk suffered the worst consequences. Its terminals, vessels and offices were completly shut down. A major cybersecurity plan was created to recover and make the company higlhy resilient.
