Dai pionieri ai giorni nostri: i linguaggi dell'autismo

Abstract

La tesi ripercorre l'evoluzione delle teorie e degli studi sull'autismo dai primi anni del Novecento fino ai giorni nostri concentrandosi in particolare sui seguenti argomenti: i controversi pionieri Leo Kanner e Hans Asperger, la confusione delle diagnosi degli anni Cinquanta durante i quali l'autismo e la schizofrenia erano visti come un disturbo unico, la teoria del doppio legame e le madri schizofregene con l'esempio della famiglia Galvin, la teoria delle madri frigorifero di Bruno Bettelheim e i suoi tre casi presentati nel libro "La fortezza vuota", la risposta delle madri con l'intervento di Clara Claiborne Park e l'autismo ai giorni nostri grazie ai progressi nell'insegnamento dei programmi TEACCH e ABA.

Autism is the topic of my thesis. The first chapter is about Leo Kanner and Hans Asperger, pioneers of the spectrum, the second one is about the difference between schizophrenia and autism in the '50 with the double bind theory, the third one is about Bruno Bettelheim and his book "The empty fortress" because he created the theory of refrigerator mothers, the fourth chapter talks about Clara Claiborne Park and her daughter Jessy and the last one is about autism nowadays.
