Piazza di Prè - Intervento di rigenerazione urbana dell'area nordoccidentale del quartiere di Prè

Abstract

La presente tesi riassume l’intero processo ideativo e realizzativo della proposta di rigenerazione urbana dell’area nordoccidentale del quartiere di Prè, situata tra la stazione ferroviaria di Genova Piazza Principe ed il sestiere storico. L’obiettivo dell’intervento è quello di donare alla città un nuovo spazio collettivo godibile dalla comunità del quartiere e passanti che avranno intenzione di usufruirne. I giardini presenti, il viale principale e la zona antecedente l’ingresso alla stazione della linea metropolitana vertono oggi in uno stato di trascuratezza ed asetticità non consoni al quartiere nel quale sono situati. Inoltre, essendo il primo luogo di arrivo di molti turisti, anzichè avvicinarli alla città vecchia, li respinge. Il soddisfacimento delle richieste sopracitate si è racchiuso nella progettazione di un nuovo disegno per la piazza, il quale includerà una rimodernizzazione dei giardini pubblici già presenti, l’installazione di un arredo urbano adatto alle nuove funzioni che dovrà svolgere la piazza e la realizzazione di un piccolo edificio adibito a servizi.

This thesis summarizes the entire process of ideation and realization of the proposal of urban regeneration of the northwest area of the district of Prè, located between the railway station of Genoa Piazza Principe and the historic district. The goal of the project is to give the city a new collective space that can be enjoyed by the community of the neighborhood and passers-by who will want to use it. The gardens present, the main avenue and the area before the entrance to the station of the metro line are now in a state of neglect and asepticity not suited to the neighborhood in which they are located. Besides, being the first place of arrival of many tourists, instead of approaching them to the old city, it rejects them. The satisfaction of the above mentioned requests has been contained in the design of a new design for the square, which will include a modernization of the public gardens already present, the installation of urban furniture suitable for the new functions that the square will have to perform and the construction of a small building used for services.
