L'Antapodosis di Liutprando e i Gesta Ottonis di Rosvita: due esempi di storiografia medievale del X secolo.

Abstract

Con il presente elaborato si vuole analizzare ed approfondire la storiografia del X secolo, in particolare si prendono in esame due opere: l’Antapodosis di Liutprando e i Gesta Ottonis di Rosvita. Il lavoro si articola su tre capitoli preceduti da un’introduzione in cui si riflette sul valore della storiografia in termini propagandistici e celebrativi, ma anche di memoria storica e testimonianza ufficiale. Nel primo capitolo si affronta il tema della storiografia in modo generale andando a vedere come si differenzia e plasma nelle varie età medievali, si presta particolare attenzione al genere biografico introducendo anche le vite e la formazione dei due storiografi presi in esame; una parentesi è dedicata all’elemento profetico-religioso all’interno della storiografia stessa. Nel secondo e terzo capitolo si affrontano invece le due opere nella loro struttura, costruzione ed intenti; si approfondiscono inoltre due temi presenti in entrambe le produzioni, l’universo femminile ed il motivo religioso.

With this paper we want to analyze and deepen the historiography of the tenth century, in particular two works are examined: the Antapodosis of Liutprando and the Gesta Ottonis of Rosvita. My work is divided into three chapters preceded by an introduction that reflects on the value of historiography in propaganda and celebratory terms, but also of historical memory and official testimony. In the first chapter we deal with the theme of historiography in a general way going to see how it differs and shapes in the various medieval ages, paying particular attention to the biographical genre also introducing the lives and the formation of the two historiographers examined; a parenthesis is dedicated to the prophetic-religious element within the historiography itself. The second and third chapters of my work, deal with the two previous nominated works in their structure, construction and intent; there are also two themes present in both productions that are deepened, the female universe and the religious motif.
