Letteratura per l'infanzia e per ragazzi e l'intercultura nella CEAS genovese

Abstract

L’elaborato affronta il valore della letteratura per l’infanzia e per ragazzi come strumento educativo e interculturale nel contesto di una CEAS (Comunità Educativa Di Accoglienza con interventi ad integrazione Sociosanitaria) genovese. Dopo una descrizione approfondita della CEAS e del ruolo dell’educatore, il lavoro evidenzia il potenziale pedagogico della lettura ad alta voce, focalizzandosi su due iniziative significative: il progetto toscano ”Leggere: Forte!” e i circoli LaAV. L’esperienza di tirocinio ha mostrato l’efficacia trasformativa della narrazione, soprattutto in contesti di fragilità, dove leggere insieme diventa un gesto di cura, capace di lenire assenze e rafforzare i legami. Infine, si riflette sul valore dell’intercultura, con un’attenzione particolare agli albi illustrati come strumenti per promuovere l’inclusione e la comprensione dell’altro. La letteratura, così intesa, diventa ponte tra culture e valido supporto nella formazione degli educatori, favorendo lo sviluppo emotivo, linguistico e relazionale nei contesti educativi.

This thesis explores the importance of children and teens literature as an educational and intercultural tool within the contest of a CEAS (Residential Educational Community with Social-Health Integration) in Genoa. After a detailed overview of the CEAS organisation -particularly focusing on the role of educators- the paper underlines the pedagogical value of reading aloud, with special reference to two meaningful initiatives: the Tuscan project and the LaAV reading circles. The professional experience in the CEAS revealed the transformative power of storytelling. Even in vulnerable contexts, showing how literature can ease feeling of absence and strengthen bonds; reading together becomes a revolutionary act of care. Finally, the thesis reflects on intercultural education, where storytelling and picture books serve as powerful tools to promote diversity, understanding and inclusion. Literature supports emotional, linguistic and relational development in educational settings and represents a bridge between cultures as well as valuable support in the professional growth of educators.
